Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Dades Gorges
- We’ll begin our journey from Marrakech, leaving sharp at 7:30 AM. We’ll be heading toward the great Atlas Mountains, a breathtaking mountain range that stretches from Morocco, across Algeria and ends in Tunisia. As we drive through the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, you’ll be immersed in the landscapes of the Atlas Mountains. This Atlas mountain region is also home to traditional Berber villages which you’ll visit during our tour.
- Our first major stop is the historic Ksar Ait Ben Haddou, a fortified village and UNESCO World Heritage site too. Recognized globally from films like Gladiator and the series Game of Thrones, Ait Ben Haddou offers an authentic glimpse into southern Morocco’s architectural and cultural heritage. You will have the opportunity to discover the ancient kasbahs, admire the clay-brick homes, while imagining the days of the Salt Road, when traders crossed this region on their way to the Sahara.
- After a traditional Moroccan lunch, the tour will continue east, through Ouarzazate and the picturesque Valley of Roses, known for its blooming flowers and artisanal rose products. After visiting the Valley of Rose, we’ll approach the end of the day, where we’ll arrive at the Dades Gorges, a natural wonder carved by the Dades River.
- You’ll explore the Monkey Fingers rock formation, famous for its unique erosion patterns. The narrow Dades Gorge road offers thrilling views of this incredible geological formation. Hiking options are available for those seeking a closer look at the Gorges du Dades.
- In the late afternoon we’ll arrive at the hotel where you’ll spend the night and where you’ll enjoy a delicious traditional dinner.

Day 2: Dades Gorges – Todra Gorges – Merzouga Desert
- After breakfast in the Dades Valley, your tour will continue with the Todra Gorges, one of the most known (and visited) natural beauties of Morocco. The Todra Gorges, is a 300 meters high canyon, which is a great destination for sightseeing or activities such as rock climbing, hiking and trekking. This excursion includes a walk through the gorge, an exploration of the Todra oasis, and visits to local Berber villages where you’ll learn the locals traditional farming practices.
- By midday, we break for lunch at a local restaurant, then, our journey will continue toward Merzouga, a gateway to the Sahara Desert and home of the iconic Erg Chebbi dunes. As the landscape shifts from mountains to golden sand, you'll witness the changing face of southern Morocco.
- Upon arrival in Merzouga, we'll bring you to the camel caravan where you'll begin a typical Moroccan camel trek across the desert. As the sun begins to set, we’ll ride toward the desert camp, where you'll enjoy the sun disappearing among the dunes.
- We will provide dinner at our desert camp, followed by an evening of entertainment around the campfire, with Berber music and drumming.

- Our next stop is Ouarzazate, where we’ll visit the Taourirt Kasbah. Once a strategic fortress and home to the powerful Glaoui family, the Taourirt is one of Morocco’s most well-preserved and historically significant kasbahs which is famous for its architecture as well as rich heritage.
- Recognized for its appearance in films like Star Wars, the Taourirt kasbah offers the opportunity to walk through Morocco’s cinematic past. You can explore its narrow maze-like corridors, historic decorative wall, and the harem quarters as you step into what once served as a symbol of Saharan power and elegance.
