Chefchaouen
Imagine a place where the sky seems to have fallen to Earth, painting every wall in breathtaking shades of blue. Nestled high in Morocco's northern peaks, between the historic towns of Tetouan and Ouazzane, lies such a wonder: the city of Chefchaouen, often called the ``Sapphire Jewel.`` This enchanting spot, known for its structures bathed in calming azure hues, truly feels like stepping into a peaceful, vibrant painting. It's no wonder folks call it the ``Indigo Haven.``

Its story began in the late 15th century, when a descendant of the revered Prophet Muhammad established a tiny stronghold. This humble fort, now simply referred to as the old citadel, was a defensive beacon against potential incursions from Portuguese forces.
The very name of this destination hints at its majestic surroundings, essentially meaning “behold the peaks”—a nod to the two towering mountain formations that embrace this charming locale. Today, this captivating community is celebrated as the “Cerulean Treasure” of Morocco, renowned globally for its distinctive dwellings adorned in brilliant white and various tones of sky.
