Marrakech to Desert Dades Valley
Discover a 5-day adventure through Morocco, starting and ending in Marrakech. This tour takes you over the High Atlas Mountains, with a visit to the famous Ait Ben Haddou. You’ll explore the unique landscapes of the Dades Valley and Todra Gorges before heading to the Merzouga Desert. Here, you’ll experience a camel ride, spend a night in a desert camp, and learn about local Berber culture and Gnawa music. The journey continues through the Draa Valley and Ouarzazate, known as “Morocco’s Hollywood,” before returning to Marrakech.

Day 1: Marrakech – High atlas mountains – kasbah Ait Ben Haddou – Dades
Drive through the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n'Tichka Pass (2,260 meters), with stops for panoramic photos and tea in a traditional Amazigh hamlet (Berber village).
Visit the Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site and the set of many famous films (e.g., Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator, The Mummy).
After lunch, continue towards the Dades Valley, passing through Kalaat M'Gouna, a town known for its thousands of hectares of roses.
Dinner and overnight stay in a hotel in the Dades Valley.
Day 2: Dades valley – Todra gorges – Jorf – Erfoud – Merzouga (Erg Chebbi desert)
Continue towards the Tinghir region, arriving at the Todra Gorges, where you can walk along the river, flanked by extraordinary 300-meter-high red cliffs.
Lunch stop in Erfoud, a town famous for its fossils, then continue to the Merzouga desert.
Arrive in Merzouga in the evening. Dinner and overnight stay in a hotel.
Day 3: Merzouga – berber families – black desert – Merzouga (camel ride & night in Sahara)
Meet locals and discover desert fossils on the way to Khamlia.
Arrive in Khamlia, a village known for its Gnawa music and culture, where we’ll experience this unique tradition.
Continue toward the Algerian border for a panoramic view of the desert dunes, with a stop for a packed lunch.
On the way back to Merzouga, visit local nomads living in Berber tents, and stop at the beautiful Yasmina Lake (visible only in spring), surrounded by dunes.
Return to the Merzouga desert for a traditional local dinner, Berber music, and an overnight stay in a tented camp.
Day 4: Merzouga – Errissani – Alnif – Agdz – Ouarzazate
Depart for Ouarzazate through the Draa Valley, with a stop in Errissani, where the Mausoleum of the first sultan of the current Moroccan dynasty is located.
Stop in Nkob, a small rural village in the province of Zagora, for lunch and a visit to the palm grove.
Continue towards Agdz, a town known for its henna production.
Arrive in Ouarzazate in the late afternoon. Check in at the hotel or riad. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 5: Ouarzazate – High atlas mountains – Marrakech
Lunch stop in Tizi n'Tichka.
Return to Marrakech in the evening.
